The Medical Scribe plays a crucial role in supporting family practice physicians by accurately documenting patient encounters and ensuring detailed clinical records. Working continuously in-person alongside a single physician during 8-hour shifts, the scribe enhances the clinical workflow with precise use of medical terminology and eClinicalWorks software while maintaining strict HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Document patient encounters and medical histories in real-time
  • Chart patient data accurately using eClinicalWorks
  • Utilize medical terminology correctly for precise recordkeeping
  • Support clinical workflow by assisting physicians with documentation
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of patient medical records
  • Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance in all documentation
  • Collaborate closely with a single physician during patient visits
  • Enter patient history data with limited clinical autonomy

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in medical scribing
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency with medical terminology and clinical documentation
  • Experience using eClinicalWorks software
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills
  • Effective time management and teamwork abilities
  • Bilingual capabilities in English and Spanish or English and Cambodian
